Collaboration Underway to Improve Pollinator Habits

Agriculture reform is a key component of a larger plan to halt the decrease of critical insect populations. Australian business Flow, developers of a user-friendly beehive, has launched the Billions of Blossoms project in conjunction with some of the world’s reforestation and conservation programmes. The company claims that by combining reforestation with habitat protection, it will be able to produce billions of fresh flowers for pollinators. When asked what “agricultural reform” means in practice, a Flow spokeswoman answered it means different things depending on the partner projects Flow has supported.

To protect pollinator health, the low-cost programme collaborates with farmers and gardeners. BFF develops guidelines for sustainable land management and is overseen by a team of experts that includes scientists and farmers. Cedar Anderson, co-inventor and CEO of Flow Hive, stated that the globe is facing climate, pollution, and extinction crises, with insect populations and global biodiversity on the decline.

Mr Anderson stated that “commitment to the regeneration of the natural environment has never been more crucial.” “Flow is ecstatic to be working with some of the world’s top reforestation and conservation programmes to assist pollinators, people, and the earth have a bright future.” The project’s goal is to help conserve and re-establish healthy forests around the world, which will supply fodder for billions of pollinating creatures. In fact, more than $325K has been raised for the Billions of Blossoms project so far.

In 43 countries, One Tree Planted collaborates with reforestation partners. It plans to plant 10 million trees by 2020. Beth Dalgliesh, One Tree Planted’s regional director for Australia and Asia Pacific, said the organisation was ecstatic to be working with Flow on the Billions of Blossoms project because it supports the organization’s mission of planting trees and creating healthy ecosystems where biodiversity can thrive.
