Job Description

This work for pruners is available for the 2021 season and will involve a range of duties. Work will be predominantly Pruning almond trees. This position is to commence immediately and immediate joiners are required. All eligible candidates must be able to work long hours in adverse weather conditions if required. They need to be physically fit, while possessing their own reliable transport.

What the Job Entails

1. Thinning cuts remove limbs by severing at point of origin from parent limb.
2. Heading cuts remove a portion of an existing limb. 

Required Work Performance

1. Must be exact in their work and be meticulous that all tasks are properly completed.
2. Usually make decisions and set daily tasks and goals with considerable input from supervisors.
3. Must meet daily work requirements.
4. May be required to stay on the premises of the farm.

Work Hours

1. This is a casual job position.
2. They will need to usually work more than eight hours per day during harvest times.
3. Usually work six days per week.

After successful completion of the interview, pruners will be offered employment on the basis of the Horticulture Award rates.
